How does the brain communicate with the gonads to guarantee reproductive fitness?

How do hormones and neurotransmitters act on and tune brain pathways involved in fertility and socio-sexual behaviors?

How do animals choose and recognize sexual partners?

How can we discover novel therapeutics to treat common disorders affecting fertility and sexual health?

Our Science Playground

We are located in the beautiful Québec City at the Université Laval (Faculty of Medicine). Université Laval is the oldest French-speaking university in North America consistently ranked among the top research universities in Canada with a strong focus on innovation and knowledge transfer. Our laboratory is located in the Reproduction, Maternal and Child Health (RSME) axis in the Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec - Université Laval (CRCHU de Québec). The CRCHU de Québec is one of the largest research centers in Canada renowned for its multidisciplinary approach, bringing together expertise from diverse health-related fields.

What We're Nerding Out On

Our laboratory is passionate about uncovering the molecular, cellular, and systemic mechanisms by which the brain orchestrates reproductive function and socio-sexual behaviors in mammals. By understanding the complex interactions between neuroendocrine and autonomic systems, we aim to deepen our knowledge on common disorders affecting fertility and sexual health. Our research could lead to innovative therapeutic strategies for reproductive and behavioral disorders.

Using animal and in vitro models, state-of-the-art approaches, and a friendly and nurturing environment, we aim to make science as fun and productive as it can be!
